Margaret Baller celebrated her 100th birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Ever Greene Ridge. Her children Jim and Claudia were in attendance. Jim’s wife Jan [Lashier] and her family, including Jack and Kathy of Des Moines, and Bob and his mother Arlene Lashier of Clear Lake, helped in the celebration. Residents of Ever Greene Ridge also attended.
There were several invited guests including Bob and Janet Owens, Bonnie Mitchell Boothroy and Rolfe Blaess.
Margaret has a back problems, but she is a very sharp lady and never misses anything. During the July 4th weekend the majority of her family came to Jefferson to celebrate at a family gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church. There are nine in the immediate family, 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with another due soon.
Margaret and Lloyd married in 1935 and came to Jefferson that year, owning Baller Auto & Home Supply. They had five children, Charles “Corky”, Michael “Mickey”, Jim, Claudia and David. Lloyd retired in 1975. They moved to Ever Greene Ridge in 1999. Lloyd died in 2002.
